Framework of use

What we commit to do, and what we ask of you

Milele keeps memories, wishes and tributes — content that touches on the intimate and, often, on people who have passed away. These rules exist so that everyone knows what to expect.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Milele, you accept these terms. If you do not accept part of them, do not use the service. These terms complement our privacy policy, which describes how your data is processed.

2. What Milele offers

Milele is a personal space accessible from a browser, with no installation. In particular, it lets you:

  • gather photos, documents, memories and personal instructions;
  • create memorials, collect tributes and light candles there;
  • build a circle of loved ones and choose what each can see;
  • open sub-accounts for a child or a pet;
  • talk with your loved ones and with our assistant Malaïka.

3. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided and for keeping your credentials confidential. We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication, available in your security settings. Let us know without delay if you notice access you did not authorise: the list of your sessions and connected devices can be viewed at any time from your space.

You must be 16 or older to open an account. A younger child can have a sub-profile, created and managed by a parent from their own account (see article 8).

4. Your content belongs to you

You remain the owner of everything you add. You only grant us the technical permission needed to host your content, display it to the people you have chosen and back it up. This permission is strictly limited to running the service: we do not use your content for other purposes and do not hand it over to third parties.

It ends when you delete the content in question or your account.

5. Memorials and people who have passed away

Creating a memorial commits the person who creates it. You declare that you have the legitimacy needed to pay tribute to the person concerned and to publish what you add — photos, dates, stories, testimonies from others.

A memorial can be made public or reserved for a circle. You choose its reach, and you can change it at any time. If a loved one feels that a memorial about them or a member of their family is a problem, they can report it to us; we review every request.

6. Visibility and sharing

Each piece of content has a visibility level: private, reserved for your circle, or public. You set it. Content marked public is accessible to anyone with the link, including outside Milele, and may be copied or indexed by search engines — later removal does not guarantee that copies made in the meantime disappear. Think about this before publishing anything that concerns living loved ones.

7. What has no place here

The following are prohibited, among others:

  • hateful, harassing, defamatory or threatening content;
  • impersonating a person, living or deceased;
  • publishing private information about others without their consent;
  • illegal content, as well as content you do not hold the rights to;
  • any attempt to access other members' spaces or data.

A report button is available on public content. We may remove reported content and, in the event of a serious or repeated breach, suspend an account. We inform you and you can contest the decision by writing to us.

8. Sub-accounts

A sub-account created for a child or a pet remains your responsibility: you decide what goes in it and who can see it. When a child reaches the age to manage their own space, the sub-account can be transferred to them.

9. Plans and payment

The details of the plans, their price and their renewal terms are presented to you at the time of subscription and are binding. You can change plans at any time, with no switching fee. Stopping a paid plan does not delete your content: you keep the ability to export it.

10. Export and deletion

You can export or permanently delete your data from your profile settings, at any time and without needing our permission. Deleting an account deletes its content. Tributes left by other people on a memorial belong to their authors: they are handled separately, and we tell you what will be kept or erased before confirming the deletion.

11. Service availability

We do everything we can to keep Milele accessible and to protect your content with regular backups. However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation: maintenance, incidents or failures of our hosting providers may occur. Keep a personal copy of what matters most to you.

12. Changes to these terms

These terms may change along with the service. Any substantial change will be notified to you, and the date of the last update appears at the top of this page. Continuing to use Milele after a change constitutes acceptance of the version in force.

A question about one of these rules, or a disagreement? Write to us: we answer every request.
