Our method

How we write our guides

When you lose someone, you have neither the time nor the strength to check what you read. Our guides must therefore be right the first time. Here is how we go about it.

Official sources, and only those

Every deadline, every organisation, every step comes from an official website: service-public.gouv.fr for France, belgium.be, ch.ch, quebec.ca, gov.uk… These sources are cited at the bottom of every guide, so you can check.

The same steps as in your file

The public guides use the steps and deadlines that Milele tracks for families in their file, country by country. One single source: what you read here is what the app offers you.

A date on every guide

Every guide shows its update date. It is reviewed when a rule changes, and at least once a year.

Written with tools, approved by a person

The guides are prepared by the Milele team, with the help of artificial intelligence tools, then reviewed and approved by a person before being published. Nothing is published without this review.

What our guides are not

They summarise the usual steps; they do not replace legal, tax or medical advice suited to your situation. For an estate, a will or a dispute, consult a notary, a lawyer or your country's authorities.

A mistake? Tell us

If a piece of information seems wrong or outdated, write to us: we check it, correct it and update the guide's date.
