Estate tax return

Document that heirs file with the tax authorities to declare what the deceased left and pay, where applicable, inheritance tax.

In France, it is filed within six months of the death, often through the notary. Elsewhere, the procedure has other names: probate in the UK, grant of representation in Kenya.
